Stewart Middle School

This project was a historical renovation. The only remaining portion of the existing building was some of the existing structure. Total building square footage was 134,000. Due to the structural upgrades required to meet current seismic codes, we had very limited overhead space available on levels 1 & 2. Our VDC department played an intricate role in coordinating our systems routing and pathways during preconstruction. This allowed us to minimize onsite construction challenges. This 3-story structure included 2 separate atriums which required a design-build smoke evacuation system along with all of the other required electrical and special systems throughout the building.
